Dear Parent,
Greetings from RIS family!!!!
It has been a month since I joined the RIS family and it has been an enriching and an invigorating experience interacting with my lovely students and concerned and optimistic parents.
In order to provide an impetus to academics the following has been introduced: -
- Daily meetings with the teaching and non-teaching staff for feedbacks and improvisations
- Weekly meetings with HODs to review subjects and assignments.
- House Parent concept has been introduced. Each teacher is responsible for 4 to 5 boarding students for their academic improvements; emotional touch; health related issues etc. In other words they are the parents for those children
- A question bank of 1000 important questions for grade IX and X is being tabulated based upon the past CBSE question paper and blue prints for each subject. The students will be put to practice based on these questions.
- Extra classes are being conducted every Saturday and Sunday for grade IX & X by subject specialists in Maths, English and Science. Each class is of one hour duration. The students find it truly beneficial. Thank you parents for co-operating with RIS in an endeavour to bring about academic excellence in our children.
- Surprise weekly tests are being conducted to assess and measure our delivery to the students and how much each student has grasped. The results are being tabulated to closely monitor the child’s progress/regress enabling us to take appropriate action internally.
To accelerate the momentum in the field of Sports and performing arts the following actions have been / are being taken which is for your persual please: -
1. The swimming pool is successfully operational.The pool is being maintained by experienced professional, who has been maintaining the swimming pools for well known establishments at Delhi. The pool is being cleaned twice a day and optimum level of chlorine is added
2. Two indoor badminton courts have already been marked. The sport will be operational within the coming week. A state level player has been appointed as the coach.
3. Synthetic Lawn Tennis is already operational, supervised and coached by a state level player.
4. Dramatics; Quiz; GK; Dance; Music activities are operational in full swing. School song has been written and composed. The first performance in all the above was staged during the investiture ceremony on 1st August. Parents were cordially invited to attend the same.
5. The Elite School Marching Band “The Raffles” has been formed. Band Master from Punjab state level has done a miraculous job and Band performance is scheduled on 15 August,2010 in Jaipur. IG Police Jaipur has advised us to form an Elite 51 member band which will be performing on 26 January, 2011 in Delhi.
Horse Riding
We are pleased to announce that RIS is all set to start horse riding lessons to students. You will agree with us that we require a minimum number of 40 students to be able bear the cost of this Royal Sport. The Charges will be Rs. 1500/- per child per month. Horse riding programme is open from Grade 4 onwards. In case you would like your child / ward to participate in the sport kindly fill in the attached REGISTRATION FORM and send the same to us along with the mentioned fee. The registrations close on 25th August. We expect to start the sport during September 2010.
